About The Northonians:

The Northonians are formed from the past players of North Launceston Football Club (NLFC). They adopted the "Northonians" Title in 1994 when they formed a more formal group from the previous "Old Players Association."

The Northonians meet regularly in support of the NLFC and to meet and socialize with other members of the Northonians.

The major aims of the Northonians for the 2010 season are:
  1. To increase membership of the Northonians;
  2. To attract past players, officials and coaches to attend matches that the Northern Bombers participate in;
  3. To provide trophies for players;
  4. By providing equipment and improved facilities for players eg. gym equipment;
  5. To increase membership of the NLFC Inc;
  6. To restore & record Club memorabilia, in particular old team photos;
  7. To provide funding for projects recommended by the NLFC Inc and agreed by the committee of the Northonians;
  8. To foster relationships with other Tasmanian Statewide Football League(TSFL) clubs including past players and officials; and
  9. To provide a pleasant environment for Northonians & their families to meet & socialise.

Trophies
The Gavin Luttrell Award for the most valuable senior player on and off the ground:

The Rattler Summers Award for the best player in the finals:
For the season 2009 final series this trophy was not awarded as the Senior team finished outside the top six..
RL Jones Award for the best player in the Anzac Day game:
For the 2009 Anzac Day game this trophy was awarded to Joel Mountney..
What's Happening?
The Northonians have obtained a licence from the Launceston City Council (LCC) to operate the Gunns Bar for Northern Bombers home games and to hold fortnightly meetings. The LCC will review this arrangement annually.

The annual Guernsey Presentation Night for the NLFC is organised by the Northonians. Players are presented with their guernseys which are sponsored by various donors at a ceremony attended by invited guests, players, officials and other dignitaries. The 2009 guernsey presentation was held at the licenced clubrooms in front of 150 people on Saturday 28 March 2009. Ex Carlton player Anthony Koutoufides was guest speaker for the evening. Guernsey presenters were ex NLFC players Damian (Squirrel) Ryan, Marcus (Toddy) Todman and Shane (Gonzo) Young.

The Northonians also organise an annual bus trip to one of the away games for Northonians members to support the Northern Bombers. The destination depends on the TSL roster. For season 2009 the bus trip was to Glenorchy (KGV) on Saturday 2 May 2009.
