The Northonians meet regularly in support of the NLFC and to meet and socialize with other members of the Northonians.
The major aims of the Northonians for the 2012 season are:
- To increase membership of the Northonians – (119 members as at 31/10/11);
- To attract past players, officials and coaches to attend matches that the Northern Bombers participate in;
- To provide trophies for players;
- By providing equipment and improved facilities for players eg. gym equipment;
- To record NLFC memorabilia, in particular old team photos;
- To provide funding for projects recommended by the NLFC Inc and agreed by the committee of the Northonians;
- To foster relationships with other Tasmanian Statewide Football League(TSFL) clubs including past players and officials; and
- To provide a pleasant environment for Northonians & their families to meet & socialise.
Note: The Northonians have budgeted $16,000 to be donated to NLFC for season 2012 for equipment, playing strip and general football department resources.
2011 Trophies
- The Gavin Luttrell Award for the most valuable senior player on and off the ground: Awarded to Allan O’Sign for season 2011.
- The Rattler Summers Award for the best player in the finals was not awarded due to the Senior side missing the finals.
- RL Jones Award for the best player in the Anzac Day game was not awarded for 2011 as there was no Anzac Day game.
What's Happening?
The Northonians have obtained a licence from the Launceston City Council (LCC) to operate the Gunns Bar for Northern Bombers home games and to hold fortnightly meetings. The LCC will review this arrangement annually.
The annual Guernsey Presentation Night for the NLFC is organised by the Northonians. Players are presented with their guernseys which are sponsored by various donors at a ceremony attended by invited guests, players, officials and other dignitaries. The 2012 guernsey presentation evening is being held on Friday 23 March 2012 at the licenced clubrooms.
