I guess you could say I would rather like to forget last week’s game against Clarence. They played the style of footy we have been trying so hard to play all year, and taught a few of our boys a football lesson. They were out for revenge after they lost in the Grand Final last year and they got it.
Our best player for the game was young Nathan Pearce from St. Helens. He ran and took the game on all day; it’s a credit to this young man who is still under 16 and in his first year at the club.
Others players to mention from this game are Michael Roe and Gavin Provis.
A high of the day for me was seeing Stephen Heppel make his senior debut; this takes the tally to 7 colts players making their first senior appearances this year.
