Background
Thane commenced his involvement with the North Launceston Football Club with the junior club in 1979, and as was common back then he then progressed to the senior club. In his words, he broke down and retired early at end of 1986.
Thane met a lot of the then NLFC senior players at various coaching clinics, and when playing junior footy, and remains friends with many of those in his long journey with the Club. He can still recall the Senior Club giving him money to assist with the costs associated with representing Tassie as a Junior football. In addition the Club assisted Thane with an employment opportunity that effectively took him into the industry he still practices within. He will be forever grateful to the Club for the opportunities that have been given to him.
Thane served on the North Launceston Football Club Committe between 1998 – 2000, and then again when he took on the President’s role in 2010.
He strives for what everyone wants to achieve – sustainable on and off field success. He serves to assist the Club in continuing to offer opportunities and support to people – just like it did for him many years ago.
